5 Tips for Printing Custom T-Shirts That Actually Look Amazing
From the Experts at Epic Print & Promo
We've printed thousands of custom t-shirts for businesses, schools, churches, sports teams, and events across California's Central Valley. Here are our top 5 tips to make sure YOUR shirts turn out perfect.
1. Choose the Right Printing Method
Not all printing is created equal:
- Screen Printing — Best for large orders (25+). Vibrant colors, durable, cost-effective at scale.
- DTG (Direct to Garment) — Perfect for small orders or complex designs with many colors. Photo-quality detail.
- Embroidery — Professional look for polos, caps, and jackets. Great for logos.
2. Start with High-Resolution Artwork
Your design should be at least 300 DPI at the final print size. Vector files (AI, EPS, SVG) are ideal. If you only have a JPEG, make sure it's at least 2000px wide.
Don't have a designer? Our in-house team can help! Just bring us your idea.
3. Pick Quality Blank Shirts
The shirt matters as much as the print. We carry:
- Bella+Canvas — Soft, retail-quality feel
- Gildan — Budget-friendly, reliable
- Next Level — Trendy fits and colors
- Nike/Adidas — Premium branded options
4. Consider Placement and Size
Standard chest print is 11-12" wide. But don't be afraid to go big! Full-front designs, oversized prints, and sleeve prints are trending.
5. Order Samples First
For large orders, always request a sample. We'll print one shirt so you can check colors, placement, and feel before committing to the full run.
